Every year the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce hosts over 40 events for our members. From business mixers and educational seminars, to luncheons with business leaders and gala dinners, each event offers our members distinct benefits. Greater Oshawa Business Excellence Awards
Held annually in the fall, this award–winning gala event recognizes businesses in the Greater Oshawa Region that have achieved a standard of excellence in the community through their own abilities, efforts and initiatives. A spectacular night of prestige, entertainment and celebration, the Greater Oshawa Business Awards recognizes members in six different award categories.

Regional Chair’s Luncheon
Each January, this annual luncheon features the State of the Region address. With Roger Anderson, Chair of the Regional Municipality of Durham as the guest speaker, this event examines the trends and opportunities in the region’s business sector and provides insight into our economic future.
Each February, this annual luncheon features the State of the City address. With his Worship, John Henry, Mayor of Oshawa as the guest speaker, this event is an occasion to learn about the initiatives being undertaken by the City of Oshawa. The Mayor addresses the major issues concerning the business community of Oshawa and speaks to what we can expect in the future.
Annual General Meeting
Held annually in April, the AGM features a keynote address from a business leader or government ministry on topics that are relevant to the Region. You’ll get plugged into the latest developments, trends and issues that are important to the local business community, hear the status on the Chamber’s financial performance, as well as the work of the board, committees and staff.
Work hard, play hard! Each March, the Chamber throws down “The Challenge” – a fun social afternoon focused on promoting a team oriented business community through friendly competition while helping raise money for local charities.
Each November, the Chamber hosts the annual Curling “FUNSpiel”. Social and super-fun afternoon of curling with lots of prizes including a cash grand prize to be donated to the winning team’s charity of choice! This is a fun event, curling experience not required!
Each May, the Chamber hosts our annual golf tournament. This sell-out tournamentis a popular event with participants coming from all over Durham Region and provides businesses the perfect opportunity for exposure, networking and fun. Your all inclusive day includes 18 holes of golf, raffles, contests, lunch, dinner, great prizes and your own personal gift bag! Sponsor a hole and personally meet with guests. Volunteers are also needed.
Swing into Summer Social
Each June, the Chamber hosts a garden party to welcome summer and enjoy a social open-air networking night filled with live music, prizes, cocktails and hors d'oeuves.
Biz @ Noon B.B.Q.
Each August, the Chamber, in association with the Motor City Car Club, hosts a Biz @ Noon BBQ and Media Launch for the annual AutoFest. Enjoy vintage cars, delicious food and great connections! This is a FREE BBQ lunch party on the Chamber patio to pre-registered Chamber members. Non-registered members will be charged $5.00 at the door and non–member’s $10.00. All proceeds go to charity. Open to everyone!
Business Market Showcase
Each April, members are invited to mix and mingle at this after-hours tradeshow. Mix a Biz after Hours with a mini trade show and dynamic guest speakers and you have a tremendous opportunity to make some new business connections! With thousands of dollars in door prizes; this is one event you don’t want to miss. Please note exhibitor space is limited, please book early to avoid disappointment.
Global Entrepreneurship Week (Third week of November)
GEW is a celebration of small business and entrepreneurship. The Chamber, along with 50 partner organizations throughout the region, hosts a variety of events providing an opportunity to network, gain knowledge, and find potential collaborators, mentors and even investors – introducing everyone to new possibilities and exciting opportunities. President’s Christmas Reception
'Tis the season to jingle and mingle, see old friends and meet new ones at the business party of the season! Indulge in a festive holiday reception with fellow Chamber members, colleagues and business acquaintances. There will be door prizes and swag bags! Please join us!

Business 4 Breakfast
The breakfast series offers exciting speakers discussing topics of relevance for businesses. Twice a year, we offer a format where “you are the speaker”. These breakfasts are a casual, fun and inspirational way to start your day.

Lunch & Learn
This seminar series is created to provide you, our members, with the opportunity to learn ways to grow and manage your business better with sessions including topics such as sales, marketing, social media, leadership and team building. These functions also serve as networking opportunities for all attendees and provide you with an opportunity to meet new people and exchange business cards.
These exceptional seminars are free, traditionally held in the Chamber Office Boardroom and generally run for 1.5 hours (Noon to 1:30pm).
Women in Business Roundtable
This women’s only event, held quarterly, is designed as an interactive roundtable discussion on topics that interest and affect women in the workforce.
Biz After Hours
Held quarterly, this is a series of vibrant after-hours business social events that provide an excellent opportunity for members and prospective members to meet face-to-face to establish or renew relationships.
Forums, Roundtables, and Information Sessions
The Chamber presents a number of information gathering and disseminating events on the hottest topics, current events and challenges that have an influence on the Region.
Entrepreneurial & Business Leaders Speaker Series
This series features informative presentations to provide members with up close and personal interaction with some of the most influential and high profile business and community leaders in the GTA.
Chamber 101 – Membership Orientation
Chamber 101 is a comprehensive membership orientation. In this session you will learn about the Chamber mission, Member benefits, meetings and networking events, committees, sponsorships, and how to maximize the benefits of your Chamber investment. Attend this orientation to meet the staff and get the facts about how we can serve you and your business.
Who should attend a Chamber 101?
Those thinking about joining the Chamber, new employees of a current Member business, or those just wanting to reacquaint themselves with the Chamber of Commerce should attend a Chamber 101.The meeting is free and open to new and existing members alike. The program is FREE, but registration is recommended. Get the value you deserve, call the Chamber at 905.728.1683 or go online to register your attendance.
New Member Reception
Held quarterly, this is a special event to roll out the red carpet and welcome our new members that have joined the Chamber in the past year. This event involves a presentation from the Chamber, our affinity partner reps, our sponsor, and a networking wine & cheese style reception.
Event Cancellation Policy
Written notice (by email is preferred) must be received a minimum of one week prior to the event date in order to receive a ticket refund. If an individual/company does not attend an event but a ticket has been purchased and no written cancellation has been received they will still be billed accordingly.
Note: Tickets are transferable. If you cannot use your ticket we encourage you to give it to a client, guest or colleague to attend in your place. Whenever possible, please advise the Chamber so we have the appropriate name tag waiting for your guest. Name tag requests must be submitted by noon the day prior to the event.
