Celebrate Creativity, Culture And Cuisine At The Durham Festival

March 15, 2015 The Regional Municipality of Durham, Planning and Economic Development Department, Tourism Division, announced that they will be partnering with all eight local area municipalities this summer, to bring residents and visitors the first-ever Durham Festival—a celebration of culture and creativity in Durham Region. This region-wide legacy event will take place from Aug. 13 to 16.  Showcasing the very best of what Durham Region has to offer, this lively event invites people of all ages to experience delicious local food, music, art, culture and creative expression of all varieties.

With the Durham Festival focused on highlighting the region’s diverse multiculturalism, it is expected to attract increased visitation from out-of-town guests, as well as encourage exploration by residents. The majority of events will take place along the region’s stunning Waterfront Trail, while the three northern municipalities will also be featured in the North Durham Village and driving tour map of Durham Region.

“Durham Tourism is proud to be partnering with all eight of our local municipalities to bring the Durham Festival to life,” said Kerri King, Tourism Manager. “We are inviting all residents and those planning to visit Durham this August to mark their calendars for the biggest event of the summer. Durham is a thriving culinary, art and cultural hub and we are looking forward to celebrating the best of what we have to offer.”
