March 15, 2015 – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Planning and Economic Development Department, Tourism Division, announced that they will be partnering with all eight local area municipalities this summer, to bring residents and visitors the first-ever Durham Festival—a celebration of culture and creativity in Durham Region. This region-wide legacy event will take place from Aug. 13 to 16.
With the Durham Festival focused on highlighting the region’s diverse multiculturalism, it is expected to attract increased visitation from out-of-town guests, as well as encourage exploration by residents. The majority of events will take place along the region’s stunning Waterfront Trail, while the three northern municipalities will also be featured in the
