The Policy Committees of the GOCC have been recently revised into four distinct areas and consist of two standing committees and 2 task forces (Municipal Affairs & Economic Development; Federal & Provincial Affairs; Transportation Task Force and Environment & Energy Task Force).
The committees and task forces monitor and interpret government legislation that will impact business and make recommendations for action to the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. The committees and task forces work with various levels of government and with the Economic Development Departments of the Greater Oshawa area to ensure there is a climate for growth of existing businesses as well as new business.
The committees and task forces will take a pro-active approach on issues and be a strong voice for responsible taxation by building and maintaining support for the control and accountability of taxation and expenditures affecting business.
