City of Oshawa launches new virtual activities series, activeOshawa at Home

“In these pandemic times, City staff are showing great resourcefulness and creativity in developing and providing a wide range of at-home activities for the citizens of all ages in our City including a summer camp option. The old expression: ‘Necessity is the mother of invention’ has never been more aptly demonstrated,”

OSHAWA – The City of Oshawa is excited to announce the launch of our new virtual activities series, activeOshawa at Home. activeOshawa at Home offers a variety of online recreation and culture activities and tips and brings lots of fun for community members of all ages to enjoy and to stay active while at home.

Free Weekly Video Activities

Recreation and Culture Services is excited to connect with our community members while we are apart through these new weekly activities. New video content is being added regularly from our program areas including aquatics, fitness, arts and culture, sports and much more.

Videos, activities and resources can be accessed by visiting www.oshawa.ca/athome, viewing the “activeoshawa at Home” playlist on the City’s YouTube account, or by connecting with “activeOshawa” on Facebook or Twitter.

Community members are encouraged to share their experience participating in activeOshawa at Home, or their favourite activities and ideas for having fun and staying active at home using #activeOshawatHome.

Camp2You Programs and Kits

The City’s new Camp2You program brings the fun of camp to children in their homes. With new activities each week, Camp2You kits are filled with materials and supplies for campers to create, build and explore. Starter Kits (optional) that provide all the basic items needed to complete the weekly activities in the Camp2You program are also available.

Curbside pick-up for families to collect their kit is every Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Delpark Homes Centre and South Oshawa Community Centre.

Interested community members can register and learn more about fees and themes for their weekly Camp2You kit and optional Camp2You starter kit at register.oshawa.ca.

Parents need options for their kids right now, so take a look at these programs to keep your kids active and occupied with worthwhile pastimes,”
