February 2, 2016 – The Durham Regional Police Service is asking businesses throughout the region to tell them about their experiences with crime and disorder. The survey is only a few questions long and asks business owners, operators and employees if their business has been victimized by crime in the past twelve months.
The survey also asks about the quality of police service, participation in crime prevention initiatives, and other concerns regarding crime and disorder in the neighbourhoods around their business properties.
The survey results will be used to identify safety issues that are specific to the business community so that we can tailor our crime prevention efforts to better serve our community. The feedback will also be used when creating the 2017-2019 DRPS Business Plan.
The survey is available online at www.drps.ca/business. Paper surveys will also be mailed out shortly to businesses in Durham Region.
The survey will run during February and March, until March 31, 2016.
Anyone with questions about the survey is asked to contact Brad Carter of the DRPS Strategic Planning Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 4394 during regular business hours.
