Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce (GOCC) is pleased to announce our recent achievement of renewal of Chamber of Commerce Accreditation with Distinction through the Chamber Accreditation Council of Canada (CACC).
GOCC’s application was reviewed and passed the Council’s strict examination, having satisfied the highest level of chamber of commerce standards and practices in the areas of: Membership Programs/Services; Policy & Advocacy; Organization/Administration; Governance; and Strategic Planning. The Accreditation is akin to ISO quality standards, but for chambers of commerce in Canada, with over 100 specific criteria that must be met with demonstrated evidence in an extensive submission.
GOCC first achieved its Accreditation with Distinction in 2005, renewable every three years, and is amongst approximately 60 chambers of commerce in the country to have achieved this highest level of chamber accreditation. The accreditation will be recognized at the Ontario Chamber of Commerce AGM in May and will be valid from 2012 to 2014.
“On behalf of the Council, congratulations on your achievement; you continue to demonstrate to your community and to other chambers of commerce in Canada that you operate your chamber in a strategic and professional way and that your operations reflect standards of business excellence,” Jennifer Hagen, Chamber Accreditation Council of Canada.
