
The Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce was pleased to have the opportunity to meet with Tony Dean, former Secretary of Cabinet and Head of Ontario Public Service, appointed by the province to lead an independent review of the Ontario College of Trades and other key areas of Ontario’s skilled trades system. He is touring the province collecting input into the activities of the Ontario College of Trades and stopped in Oshawa on May 4th. Chamber Board members and key business leaders provided insights and solutions on ways to improve apprenticeship attraction, training and completions to meet the future needs of Durham Region. The Tony Dean Review will be holding in-person consultations in Kingston, Ottawa, Hamilton, London, Sarnia, Thunder Bay, Sudbury and the GTA. The Chamber looks forward to the completion and distribution of Mr. Dean’s report in the coming months.
