Oshawa - Urgent action is needed to reduce restrictions to trade and travel between the largest trading partners in the world—Canada and the US. This is according to the Ontario Chamber of Commerce in the release of the third in a series of reports about the challenges facing the Canada-US border.

The prosperity conference held last October was a joint effort between the University Of Ontario Institute Of Technology, the Region of Durham Economic Development and Tourism Department, the regional Chambers of Commerce and Boards of Trade, and the Economic Development Offices of Ajax, Beaverton, Clarington, Oshawa, Pickering, Scugog, Uxbridge, and Whitby.
In March Mr. Richard Marceau, Provost, University of Ontario Institute of Technology .and Mr. Norm Mackie from Mackie Moving Systems co-chairs of the conference released the report on the Durham Economic Prosperity Conference to the Regional Chair, Mayors, all Municipal & Regional Councillors and to the participants.
