OSHAWA – The City of Oshawa is inviting residents of all ages to the second Paint the Park event at Donevan Recreation Complex and Skate Park on Sunday, August 26 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

While the weather did not cooperate in July, the August event promises to provide the same excitement and access to artists! Paint the Park will highlight the talents of G.T.A. graffiti artists as they transform the safe graffiti wall while Hip Hop Authority provides the soundtrack for the day as the event’s D.J. The event will also include an art market with local street art vendors, a sticker art and trading show with artists Andres Musta and Jozef Tomaszewski, as well as opportunities to:

• learn graffiti writing techniques with Paul Paget;
• make your own buttons with Culture Counts;
• create your own street art stencils with Urban Art for Social Change (U.A.S.C.) students (from R.S. McLaughlin C.V.I.); as well as,
• interactive activities hosted by local organizations like The LivingRoom Community Art Studio.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their skateboards and scooters to take to the ramps during the event.
