Participate in the Communities with Brooms event on Wednesday, April 25
Join the City of Oshawa in collaboration with community organizations and members on Wednesday, April 25 to spruce up the downtown as part of the 10th annual Communities with Brooms event.
A collaboration of organizations within the city are coordinating the Communities with Brooms event, bringing volunteers together, as well as representatives from Downtown Oshawa BIA, M.P. Colin Carrie, M.P.P. Jennifer French, Durham Regional Police, John Howard Society and the City of Oshawa.
The event aims to clean up downtown Oshawa’s streets, foster community pride, build partnerships and raise awareness regarding clean and safe communities.
Residents can register for this event by emailing brooms@jhsd.ca. Communities with Brooms is part of the City’s annual Community Clean-up Week, running April 21 – 28 this year.

11:45 a.m. Participants are assigned groups and receive garbage bags, gloves and supplies.
12:00 p.m. Groups make their way through downtown, collecting debris and ensuring proper disposal.
12:30 p.m. Barbecue for volunteers at the Office of Oshawa M.P. Colin Carrie.
