It is that time again \u2013 time\u00a0to make your voice heard.<\/p>\n
On October 22nd as citizens,\u00a0business owners, employees\u00a0and employers, we are\u00a0all being asked to get out\u00a0there and cast a ballot for\u00a0Mayor, Regional Chair, City\u00a0Council and School Board\u00a0Trustees. We have done our\u00a0best to offer our members\u00a0opportunities for information\u00a0gathering. We started with a\u00a0Regional Chair Forum. This\u00a0event was a great success,\u00a0and was organized jointly\u00a0with the other Chambers\u00a0of Commerce and Boards\u00a0of Trade in the area. It was\u00a0recorded by Rogers TV and\u00a0you can view the entire\u00a0forum at this here. We also\u00a0just offered a Councillor\u00a0Forum and Mayoral Debate,\u00a0on October 11. This was\u00a0organized jointly with the\u00a0Durham Region Association\u00a0of Realtors. Coverage of that\u00a0event was also offered by\u00a0Rogers TV, and we will be\u00a0posting information on the\u00a0replay of that forum on our\u00a0website as soon as we have\u00a0it; so please keep an eye\u00a0out.<\/p>\n
Finally,\u00a0earlier\u00a0in the\u00a0campaign\u00a0process,\u00a0we\u00a0offered an\u00a0opportunity for\u00a0our members to ask questions\u00a0to any\/all of the candidates\u00a0running in Oshawa via an\u00a0online survey. After collecting\u00a0those questions, we posed\u00a0them to the candidates, we\u00a0have compiled the answers\u00a0and they are not posted\u00a0online. Please visit our\u00a0website. We will continue\u00a0to update this page with\u00a0any answers that come are\u00a0received,\u00a0up until\u00a0October\u00a022nd, 2018.<\/p>\n
For\u00a0Oshawa,\u00a0if you still\u00a0need to\u00a0find what\u00a0Ward you\u00a0live in, or\u00a0where you\u00a0can vote\u00a0head over\u00a0the City of\u00a0Oshawa\u2019s\u00a0Election\u00a0website.\u00a0You should\u00a0be able\u00a0to find\u00a0answers or\u00a0help at this\u00a0website.\u00a0It\u2019s at these key civic\u00a0moments in my life that I\u00a0am reminded of the words\u00a0of Edmund Burke: \u201cNobody\u00a0made a greater mistake than\u00a0he who did nothing because\u00a0he could do only a little.\u201d So,\u00a0on October 22nd, get out to\u00a0the polls and have your say\u00a0\u2013 because a single vote may\u00a0seem small, but every vote\u00a0counts!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
